Don’t be fooled by all the pink, I’ve loved mud and trees since I was a child, and other than getting taller (well not by much) little has changed since then. I love being outdoors, there’s something wildly exhilarating about it that has me hooked, and lucky for me so is my fiancé, Anthony. This passion for the outdoors, especially fishing, left us in want of a cooler that could keep up—that’s when we came across the YETI Tundra. Intricately crafted, this thick-walled ice-chest, caught our attention and after reading the reviews, and we knew we had to have it. Anthony gave me my first YETI during Valentine’s Day 2016, and my second one for our Anniversary this year, and I am obsessed.
Size, Shape, and Weight.
Not only will your YETI keep ice like no other, but it will look good doing it. The sleek build allows for easy travel and the limited edition colors like Sea-foam (which I have) and the highly coveted pink that just came back, make it the even more appealing. The only downside to the design is the weight. I am 5’2”, and while I can carry my 45 Tundra on my own when it’s empty, I need some help when it’s full. This minor flaw is remedied with the fact that when I use the Tundra, I am normally going somewhere with other people. So whether it’s Anthony or my friends, I usually have someone to help me carry it.
** Side note: Anthony can carry it full on his own.
Ice, Ice, Baby
Not only are YETIs (especially monogrammed) darling, but they could keep ice in a furnace. I have literally left drinks and ice in them up to three days after a get-together with friends, and they still have ice—and I live in Texas. No matter the weather outside, our YETIs have handled heat like no one’s business.
Fish On
Anthony and I stay out all day when we go fishing so we needed something that would keep our catch fresh in the Texas heat, and that wouldn’t require us to change out the ice constantly; which is why these #builtforthewild coolers were the perfect addition to our lifestyle. They are also incredibly stable, so you can hop up and use it as a casting platform. In addition, you can purchase separate cooler attachments or add-ons like rod holders, or a non-slip SeaDek for your casting platform. Our YETIs have been game changers to our fishing trips, keeping our catch fresh so we can keep casting without worrying if the heat is going to spoil them.
Show Me The Money
Now a lot of people are deterred from purchasing a YETI because of the price. Starting at $199.99 they are a little steep for a cooler, however, we chose to look at it as an investment. Y’all, these tanks are practically indestructible and won’t need to be constantly replaced like so many other coolers we’ve owned. What you would spend in the long run for a cooler that never truly keeps ice would probably be more than making a single purchase for what YETI states is “the last ice chest you’ll ever need.”
Final Thoughts
I am a YETI Junkie and just added the adorable Limited Edition Pink Roadie to my beloved collection. I love the look, durability, and the never-fail way it keeps whatever’s in it freezing cold. Our YETIs have exceeded our expectations and have truly lived up to being #builtforthewild. So whether you are a serious outdoorswoman/man, a collegiate looking for the perfect tailgating gear, or just a soccer mom looking to upgrade her cooler bag, I highly recommend that you look into these phenomenal coolers and see for yourself why they make the perfect addition to any lifestyle.
P.S. if yeti.com is still sold out try Cabela’s or REI, that’s where I ordered mine from.
With love from the Lonestar,
