Five Fall Favorites

With the return of football, the winds crisping and, pumpkins gracing the porches of the world, I can’t help but grin. Fall has begun y’all! Unofficially marked by the arrival of a beloved pumpkin spice beverage, this autumn brings with it all of the sweet cinnamon wonders of the rust-colored season and the unveiling of my blog (yay)! I have been working on this for a while now and am so excited that it is finally live! That being said, I have been hunting through my things in search of my ride-or-die autumn staples and have compiled them into my first ever blog post—Five Fall Favorites, (original, I know).

L.L. Bean boots

I actually had an order to this list, but once I started typing, my Bean boots were the first thing that popped into my head. I purchased my 8” boots in the tan/brown color combo last year and can say without a doubt these are my favorite multi-purpose boots of all time. Not only do these darling little duck boots look adorable on, but they are crafted with such care and quality that they quickly became my live-in boots all fall and winter. They have a rubber sole perfect for rainy days and an insole so supportive that your feet will thank you. L.L. Bean’s duck boots y’all—once you go quack, you never go back.

P.S. size down one whole size. I normally wear a 6 and had to get a children’s 3.

Bath and Body Works Three Wick Candles

There are few things more delightful than a great smelling home. A great candle can greet your guests long before you open a knocked door. My personal favorites are the Bath and Body Works Three-Wick Candles in the scents Leaves (not pictured) and Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin. These two scents are the essence of fall and fully capture all of the notes of the season in two long-lasting candles of autumn goodness. It takes me about 2-3 weeks to burn a candle when using it for 6 or more hours daily, so you will get your money’s worth with these babies. Plus, B&BW is always having some type of sale so keep your eyes open for some extra savings on these beauties!

YETI coolers

Football parties and Tailgates—need I say more? If you’re looking for the perfect cooler to keep your drinks ice cold while you cheer on your favorite team, then this little beauty is totally for you. I have two 45 Tundra Yeti Coolers, and I can honestly say they are one of the best investments I’ve made…well, my Fiancé’s made. I have literally left drinks and ice in my YETIs three days post-party, and they still have ice when I clean them out! Anthony originally got them for me for fishing, since they double as a casting platform, but I use mine whenever I can. The only downside to these babies is the weight. I am 5’2”, and I can’t really carry the 45 Tundra when it’s full on my own. However, I’m usually heading to a gathering when I’m using the Tundra, so there’s always an extra set of hands to help carry it. Aside from that, I adore my YETIs and just added the pink Roadie to my collection. This highly coveted limited edition Pink is only back for a short time, so if you want to have the most darling cooler at the tailgate, get this baby before it’s gone!

P.S. If yeti.com is still out of stock, try Academy, Cabela’s, or REI.

First Aid Beauty 5-in-1 Face cream

I have extremely dry skin year around, but it is especially flaky during the fall and winter months, and with our wedding only 60 days out, I ran to Sephora to stock up on my favorite hydrating moisturizer to avoid any scaling on my skins. Aptly named, this First Aid Beauty cream rescues my parched skin from the drying fall weather without leaving it tacky or slimy. It claims to reduce wrinkles, even skin tone, filter UVA/UVB rays, moisturize and combat free radicals, and while I can’t speak for the rays or radicals with certainty, it definitely does the rest. It has shrunk the crease on my forehead, rejuvenated my skin to a supple and bouncy texture, and calmed my redness like no other. It also has SPF but surprisingly doesn’t give me flashback, so I can wear it whenever and with whatever foundation I like. I am currently on my second bottle and will definitely repurchase when this one is out.

Fall Festivals, Pumpkin Patches, and Corn Mazes

If you are fortunate enough to live in a place that has fall festivities, I encourage you to take advantage of them. There are few moments more darling than spending the evening with the people you love picking out the perfect pumpkin to carve, or going on a hayride with a cup of hot cider. With all the terrible destruction brought about by the recent natural disasters, I challenge you to take some time this fall to enjoy your loved ones and exercise your gratitude far before Thanksgiving, because, for those of us who weren’t directly hit with these storms, we have so much to be grateful for.

I hope you enjoyed this post and wish you a fabulous fall!

With love from the Lonestar,

Isabella
